Co-develop Integrated soil fertility management in maize-legume cropping systems of Malawi

Smallholder farmers in Southern Africa, including Malawi, are affected by a myriad of issues that lower their crop and livestock productivity, from climate change, mostly through unpredictable rainfall patterns and amounts, soil fertility decline, and shortage of feed and fodder for their livestock, among others. Yet several technologies have been developed to reduce crop losses and improve yields that aren't adopted widely or are disadopted after a while. This project's aim was to foster participatory co-designing and co-creation with farmers and stakeholders for intercropping and integrated soil fertility management strategies that address their demands and validate those technologies with the smallholder farmers.
